ACUITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP – PRIVACY COLLECTION STATEMENT

Acuity Development Group Pty Ltd ACN 619 212 636 (Acuity DG) has a policy only to collect personal information which is reasonably necessary for its dealings with the relevant individual. Acuity DG only uses personal information for the purpose specified or which is reasonably apparent at the time the information was collected, or for a related purpose for which the individual would reasonably expect it to be used. Acuity DG takes reasonable steps to protect personal information that it holds from unauthorised access, modification, misuse, interference and loss.

The Acuity DG Privacy Policy contains information about how you may request access to and correct personal information Acuity DG holds about you, or to make a privacy-related complaint.

ACUITY DG – PRIVACY POLICY

1. Introduction
This privacy policy applies to Acuity Development Group Pty Ltd ACN 619 212 636. References to “Acuity DG”, “we”, “us” or “our” on this website refers to Acuity Development Group Pty Ltd and any of its related entities.

We recognise that your privacy is important to you. This policy has been prepared to provide you with information on the collection, storage, use, protection and disclosure of your personal information by us, and having regard to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988. When referring to personal information, we mean information that identifies an individual or from which an individual’s identity can reasonably be ascertained.

2. Collection of personal information
The personal information that Acuity DG collects will depend upon what dealings the individual may have with Acuity DG. Such individuals may include: purchasers or potential purchasers, suppliers, contractors, employees, job applicants, or any other individuals that we deal with.

Where it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we will only collect personal information from you directly. In some circumstances, we may be provided with personal information by other parties, such as an agent.

3. What personal information we hold
We will only collect the personal information reasonably necessary to undertake our business functions, or those required by law. The reasons that we collect your personal information and the parties to whom we will disclose it will be reasonably apparent to you when we collect your information.

The types of personal information we hold may include, but are not limited to: an individual’s name, date of birth, contact details, tax file number, information about financial position, or opinion about Acuity DG’s products, services or staff.

The Australian Privacy Principles impose restrictions on collecting sensitive personal information (including information about religious views, ethnicity and personal health information). We will not collect sensitive information about you unless it is reasonable in the circumstances and you have provided consent for us to do so.

4. How we use and disclose personal information
We will only use and disclose your personal information for the primary purpose for which it is provided to us or a related secondary purpose for which the individual would reasonably expect it to be used. We will not sell or trade your personal information.

Acuity DG limits the information disclosed to external parties to what is required for them to perform their services for Acuity DG or the relevant individual, or what is required by law.

Any other disclosure of your personal information will be as required by law or as permitted by the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may use your personal information to send Acuity DG marketing information which may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive these communications you should contact our Privacy Officer and Acuity DG will ensure that these communications cease.

5. Data quality
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

6. Access to and correction of personal information
Any individual can request access to the personal information Acuity DG may hold about them by making a request in writing to our Privacy Officer. Subject to proof of identity and some exceptions which are set out in the Australian Privacy Principle 12, we will provide you with access to your personal information. If we decline your request for access, we will provide you with a written explanation for the refusal.

The service is free of charge unless the personal information requested requires excessive preparation time. In this situation, Acuity DG will provide an estimate of how much this service will cost and request agreement before proceeding.

If you can establish that the personal information that we hold is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, where possible, we will take reasonable steps to correct it.

7. Security
We take reasonable precautions to ensure that your personal information is secure and protected from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Personal information is held on secure servers or in storage located in controlled environments. Acuity DG employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of any personal information held. If we no longer require your personal information we will take steps to destroy or de-identify it.

8. Cookies
A Cookie is a small data file that may be placed on the computer of a web user during a visit to our web site. Cookies can record information about the user’s visit to assist Acuity DG in better understanding the needs of the user. If you do not wish to receive any cookies from our website, you should set your browser to refuse cookies although this may mean you are not able to access our website.
