Has your current situation changed your housing desires or requirements?

Have you thought about the current changes and given consideration to all aspects of your work life and family life lately?

Often things around us change and yet we stay concreted to our initial decisions and rationale behind those choices.  Buying a home is a big deal and moving is a bigger deal for many.

Current changes have been challenging albeit there have been many positive things to come to the surface.

Have you been working from home, have you struggled with productivity? Is this causing you stress? Now this may be from kids, from distractions or even added expectations. These are all perceived challenges that have arisen from the pace and external force of the changes.

Deciding to make changes ourselves is very different to when someone else decides for us which can rattle us enough that we don’t see the benefits.

For many people the current changes mean there is no travel time, more time with kids, family, and to do other things that we have always wanted to get done around the house.  There is learning to do and technology to take us everywhere we need to be, all of these things can have a positive global, environmental and personal impact if we let them.

So, what is stopping us from enjoying them? With the pace this has unfolded, most are not really set up for their new environment. Do you have a home office that you schedule your time to? Do you take breaks as you normally would? Or has work overridden your life.

Does your home actually allow for work / life boundaries to be set and allow you to remain productive?

Is it time to look for a new home? One that actually allows you to enjoy the new way of being able to create a better work life and enjoy the rest of your time as you should?

For all of you who are struggling with the changes, what is it that you have a greater need for? Is it fresh air?  More space around you, not necessarily in your home, just around you in general?  Or maybe it is community.

So, what do you consider? Do you shift somewhere that has better lifestyle choices, fresh produce and great outdoor recreational opportunities now that you don’t have to be in one location every day? Somewhere you can walk the kids to school, or maybe for you it is closer to the beach or even towards family you moved away from for work.

Moving homes is not all that hard if you understand the true benefits it creates and many more opportunities that will arise for yourself and others around you.

While interest rates are at an all-time low, is it time for you to consider the benefits of the new lifestyle you find yourself, and enhance that by moving to your next home?

Personally, I don’t believe that a home has to be forever, I believe that over our lifetime we should experience many different places to spend periods of time and enjoy each one of them while it serves our needs, we will all grow out of some things and certainly into others.

Until next time, enjoy growing into your new environment
